Local Priorities Cycle Theft Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding cycle theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

The team have responded to a call of a male using an angle grinder to cut a bike lock. CCTV has captured the incident. After a chase the male was detained and arrested. Thankfully the bike had a tracker within and the owner tracked the bike to the police station where we had recovered it. The bike was purchased for £2500 and would have been a substantial loss to the victim.

If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk/, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
